High five: 5 easy ways to fundraise for NDADA

high five
If you think you could help us reach our £10,000 Covid-19 Emergency Appeal target there are lots of ways to help – many of which don’t even require getting off the sofa …

We’ve had some amazing support for our Covid-19 Emergency Appeal with some incredible donations coming from supporters like Clare Taylor who signed up to be a fundraiser on JustGiving. Claire has done a duathlon (75k bike ride, 10k run) twice in a single weekend, raising an astonishing £1,160.

If you think you could help us assist families who need support right now there are lots of ways to help – many of which don’t even require getting off the sofa …

1. Sign up to Amazon Smile

Whenever you shop on Amazon, they’ll donate 0.5 per cent of the purchase price to NDADA when you specify us as your preferred charity. You just need to sign up to Amazon Smile, choose North Devon Against Domestic Abuse as your preferred charity and access the site from the Smile page each time so they can track what they need to donate to us. Simple.

2. Add a donation link to your email

Whether you are beavering away at home or back at work, your emails (including the out-of-office ones) are out in the world spreading your messages far and wide. Why not let them do a little extra work? We’ve seen people add a link to charities and campaigns they are supporting on their email footer. Could NDADA’s Covid-19 Emergency Appeal be on yours?

3. Create a birthday bar

Even if you can’t get together with your friends on your birthday this year, what’s to stop you from setting up a birthday bar at home? Ask friends to donate the price of a drink to the campaign and, even better, get together in cyberspace and meet via Zoom so you can toast your special day in virtual style.

4. Use it as an excuse to be active

From climbing the equivalent height of Everest via your stairs to walking around your neighbourhood or running a long distance (at once or in parts), the only limit on this one is your creativity (and fitness). Ask friends to sponsor you and set up your own fundraising campaign on JustGiving.

5. Join the Thankful 4 campaign

Life in lockdown certainly focuses the mind on what we’ve got to be thankful for. Share the good vibes by taking a photo on your phone of four things you’re thankful for, donate £4 to our campaign and post the pics on Facebook using #Thankful4 plus the link to the campaign. Then nominate four friends and ask them to pass it on.

You can also donate directly here. Thank you.
