9 winter fundraising ideas for NDADA

Christmas foliage

Winter is fast approaching and as the temperature starts to drop NDADA needs your help to provide warmth, shelter and safety to families in need. Why not get together with friends and family and set up a fundraiser for NDADA or challenge yourself to a sponsored solo endeavour?

Here are some ideas to get you started…

1. Movie night

Organise a film night at your local community centre or school hall and screen a Christmas classic. Ask for a donation on the door and raise extra funds by selling homemade sweet treats. If you can’t find a venue, ask a local movie club to screen your film, with proceeds going to NDADA.

2. Festive bake sale

In the run up to the festive season why not organise a work or community bake sale? Ask colleagues or friends to whip up a batch of their favourite baked goodies or sweet treats and then sell them on with profits going to NDADA.

3. Supper club

When it’s cold and dark outside a great way to bring people together is to host a supper club. Invite friends and family round for dinner and ask them to make a donation in exchange for a hearty home-cooked meal.

4. Cosy quiz

Flex your general knowledge muscles by hosting a community quiz night. Book a space in a local pub or hire out a community centre for the evening and ask teams to pay a donation to enter. Boost donations by holding a fundraising raffle on the night too and ask local businesses to donate prizes.

5. Wintery walk

Why not limber up and set yourself a challenge of doing a sponsored walk this winter? Set yourself a distance goal for the month and ask your friends, family and colleagues to support your efforts by sponsoring you.

6. Chilly dip

Outdoor swimming is a popular pastime and is proven to benefit both physical and mental health. Brave the chilly waters this winter by getting a group together to do a sponsored dip for NDADA.

7. Christmas fair

With the festive season just around the corner, why not organise a Christmas fair in your community centre or school hall? Amusements such as a Santa’s Grotto, a tombola stall, a guess-the-number-of-sweets in the jar game and a Christmas raffle are sure-fire ways to raise money and have family fun at the same time.

8. Get crafty

The dark winter nights are the ideal time to lose yourself in a craft project. Organise a Christmas wreath, decoration or festive wrapping paper-making session with friends and family and charge a donation to attend.

9. Swim-a-thon

Swimming is one of the best ways to keep fit and healthy, and it’s the ideal year-round activity. Clock up the kilometres by setting yourself a distance challenge and ask people to sponsor you for your efforts.
